Client Challenge

The USDA tasked TechCORE MSS, in collaboration with its prime contractor, Vistronix, to deliver on the Pegasystems Solution Development for multiple business units within the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). With such varied business objectives, the USDA also determined the need for a Center of Excellence (CoE).

Client Success & Solution

Our team was able to create a customized Pega solution to meet NRCS needs and apply business process management (BPM) to modernize NRCS systems per the client’s prioritized business goals. The TechCORE MSS Pega development team (a 14-person team with Lead Systems Architects, Business and Systems Architects, a CoE Expert, and a Pega Engagement Lead) created an enterprise-wide solution through coordinated teamwork with multiple stakeholders. The Team employed a repeatable Agile/SCRUM methodology, which was aligned with Pega’s recommended methodology approach, to accomplish contract tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner. TechCORE MSS also provided a wide range of Pega knowledge to support the CoE.

Benefits & Results

Today, the USDA NRCS solution supports 2,000 total users with the normal concurrency load being 50 users/50 transactions. The CoE exists with a significant Pega knowledge-base that drives standard architecture, the use of best practices, and development and implementation processes.
